Library Skills, like many small businesses, comes from a place of humble beginnings.  Our founders, Phil and Lin, spent years supplying the educational market with books and encyclopedias. Phil was even selling some of the original CD-ROM encylopedias to schools in a time when he also had to sell a computer along with the CD-ROM so the school would have a way to use the encyclopedia!  Eventually Phil & Lin saw some library signage being sold in other countries and realized that nothing like it was available in the US.  They eventually began manufacturing library signage here in the States, and to this day some of our designs are licensed from the overseas companies that originally inspired our core products.

Phil & Lin spent more than 20 years serving libraries and librarians (and, by association, the young learners that they served). In 2023 they decided to retire and spend more time playing golf, traveling, and visiting their children and grandchildren. The company was acquired by Nathan and Laura Foeller and moved to Pennsylvania.  Here Library Skills became a part of their growing family of printing-related companies – a list that includes Minuteman Press of Stroudsburg (a full-service printing company), Raffles For Less (an online raffle ticket printer), MinistrySupply.org (a company that focuses specifically on serving the print needs of churches and other ministries), and now also Library Skills!  Not only have their companies served the Northeast Pennsylvania for 15 years and counting, their online arms have served customers around the globe.  Their businesses have a strong, hard-working team and also a clear focus on providing a quality product at a fair price in the most simple method possible.

One advantage to already being in the printing business is that Library Skills now has more flexibility with product customization and also more ability to turn orders around faster than they had in the past.  We look forward to developing a wider range of products and to continuing to serve the needs of librarians everywhere!
